Goal

My goal is to get dogs and humans to work together as one. Once my training is complete. The goal is to keep going and to get that bond between Owner and Dog to continue through my training techniques.

Every dog is unique and many times individual dogs need different training methods along with different techniques. I offer a variety of services to meet the needs of my clients and their furry friends

             FAQ

My 1-hour in-house training is $80. It is a private lesson at YOUR house. If any allergies are known, please let me know.

For puppies, I train the basic obedience pillars which include:

-Sit
-Wait
-Leave it
-Stay
-Touch
-Down

In more advanced stages, these structures advance to the outside world. I like working with puppies on suppression training and heel walking.

I work with all ages of dogs and dog aggression. I do not work with dogs with a bite history on humans.

I get asked this question a lot and the answer is,

It all depends on how much YOU as the owner work with the dog on a day-to-day basis.

I can train a dog in five minutes what to do, but… if the dog does not get the practice it needs (from the owner) to fix or manage the behavior, it will forget it. It is the same as us humans (Practice & Consistancy = Perfection)

I think kennels are great training tools. When a dog is a puppy, they are constantly getting into things. I think of the kennel as the mother’s eyes.

When the puppy is in the kennel it is safe and out of harm’s way. When the puppy is out of the kennel he/she could eat a wire, a poisonous liquid, and or choke on something they are not meant to have in their mouth.

Kennels speed up potty training when done properly. Most dogs love kennels. They will go into the kennel at their own free will once ‘CRATE TRAINING’ is done effectively.

DO NOT JUST PUT YOUR DOG IN A KENNEL AND LEAVE as this will affect the relationship your dog has with its kennel. Once potty training and destructive teething are out of the way, it’s your choice to keep it or get rid of it.

I use negative and positive reinforcement training while incorporating corrections when needed, using leash pressure and cues.

Dog Training

Dogs are pack animals

They follow a strict hierarchy and that will never change from their culture. If we do not add structure in the dogs life along with boundaries as the pack leader, the dog will then assume the role of hierarchy. Imagine what will happen if a child is never taught any rules, given any discipline, or was never given any kind of education? We love taking ownership of our dog’s good behavior. yet bad behavior seems to always be the dog’s fault.

Rule # 1 of dog training

It’s never the dog’s fault. Good or bad, ALL behaviors come from us. If your dog doesn’t listen to you, at some point you (inadvertently) told them they didn’t have to. If we want them to listen to us, we need to communicate with them appropriately.
